JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Improve and create standard operating procedures:  Everyone is expected to create and improve the operating procedures for their primary areas of responsibility on a daily basis.

  • Overall responsibility for all stages of photovoltaic construction projects

  • Develop and review project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards and quotes from suppliers

  • Supervise project implementation to assure cost, time, quality and execution guidelines according to schedule

  • Represent project towards external parties such as owners, public authorities, grid operator, suppliers, and others

  • Responsibility for project controlling

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma and 4 years or more of work related experience.

  • Word processing/spreadsheet/presentation

  • Adobe Acrobat experience 

  • Working knowledge of Macintosh Operating Systems & iOS devices.

  • Passion about renewable energy and energy conservation

  • Customer-service oriented with a high level of integrity and character.

SOLAR PROJECT MANAGER

The Solar Project Manager will take over when the contract is signed and do almost all the non-construction and non-design work (permits, utility interconnection work, creating materials list, ordering, scheduling, incentive programs,cost keeping, and crew coordination, etc.).  They will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects for Sun Directed to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Manager will utilize appropriate resources including computers, smart phones, ipads, etc. to manage projects to contractual requirements. Manager will be responsible for completing projects under or on-budget and on-schedule, and for assembling material lists, permit packages, interconnection packages, etc. Manager will work with other members of the Sun Directed operations team and with installers to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, and coordinate work with others.

QUALIFICATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

  • Primarily main office and field environments

  • Up to 75% travel, often on short notice

  • May be assigned to projects more than 100 miles away from home with frequent site visits required.

  • Requires Valid Driver’s license

  • Must pass a drug test and random drug test

  • Must submit and pass a FBI criminal background test

  • This position is physically demanding, including the ability to work in hot, cold and wet weather

  • Ability to work at heights and on roof edges while harnessed

  • May regularly lift over 40 pounds and perform other physical tasks.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of LEAN concepts, project management, and project controls in an engineering and construction environment.

  • General knowledge of the PMBOK.

  • Good understanding of engineering and construction documents and processes. -Demonstrated understanding of engineering and construction methodology and the associated financial aspects

  • Demonstrated understanding of cost estimating and budget projections.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in project management and/or the solar industry.  

  • NABCEP Certified Professional PV Installer preferred.

  • PMBOK knowledge preferred
